Workshop on “Intellectual Property Rights” by Dr. Rahul Taneja (Scientist in Department of Science and Technology, Panchkula, Haryana)


GGI -MHRD Innovation Cell (MIC) has organized one day workshop on intellectual property rights , for its faculty and students at its campus on 10th/January/2019 (Thursday) . The resource persons were Dr. Rahul Taneja – PHD, M.Pharma, MBA, MPhil working as a scientist in Department of Science and Technology. He is a Master expert in Intellectual Property.

Dr.Rahul Taneja took the session and shared knowledge about History of Intellectual Property , World Intellectual Property Organization: Roles & Functions , Intellectual Property India Office: Roles & Functions , How to file a Patent Application ,  How to file a Copyright Application , How to file a Trademark Application , How to file a Design Application , Scheme for Facilitating Start-ups Intellectual Property Protection. The structured inputs to understand importance of applying for Patent even for what looks like small invention, is the need of the hour. What may look like small to you may have big impact in science, technology or engineering. With an assurance by Dr.Taneja that he shall mentor Patent Application and IPR Process to GGI Faculty and Students has motivated many.

The excellent co-ordination done by GGI-MHRD Innovation Council is highly appreciated. Mr.Keneyo suleman, Semester 4th Student of Computer Application of Gulzar Group Institutes, Ludhiana declared Star Performer by GGI MHRD’s Innovation Council Faculty Convener who has helped outstandingly for conduction of event at Institute level.

S. Gurkirat singh, Executive director, GGI has welcomed the students, faculty and also encouraged students to participate in Smart India Hackathon 2019 edition. He said that the sessions were very interesting and informative and this will not only be useful for the students but also for the faculty of the institute.
