International Youth Day is observed annually on 12 August, an opportunity to draw attention to youth issues worldwide.
During International Youth Day at GGI , students organized concerts, workshops, cultural events at the campus. The event, inaugurated by Chairman Sir S Gurcharan Singh, reminded of the versatile culture at the GGI-campus. He reminded that GGI is home to students from different states of India and various countries. He said that this festival is a celebration for the youth from different nationalities and cultures. Probably for freshers this event was the first. Students celebrated the festival on the same theme. Cultural performances by students from Bhutan, Nepal, Zimbabwe, West Africa & from different states of India.
Students from Punjab performances of Bhangra and Giddha were the top hit.
Food stalls arranged by the students had an opportunity to make the extra buck for student’s organizing group.
S. Gurkirat Singh, Executive Director of GGI congratulated the event coordinators for organizing the event successfully.He added, International Youth Day celebration is a celebration of different cultures, different dialects, different states and countries we belong to. It provides an opportunity to learn from each other.
